Choose to use and support these valuable resources.

Bee in hive- If you live in Taranaki, this is your hive and you may have skills, knowledge, local products or services that can be included here, and so will many of your family, friends and neighbours, or you might just have heard of somebody.

Nominate yourself, and all the people you know of, who also have skills, knowledge, local products or services to contribute to a buzzing Taranaki hive.


How hive works:

All suppliers and their resources fit into one or more categories in the hive, which are all about providing:

  • healthy, nutritious food, clean water, conserving our local natural resources and utilising them sustainably
  • right livelihoods for people, trading locally & increasing cashflow within Taranaki
  • safe, secure, healthy places to live and essential health services
  • assistance for people to connect with each other, supporting co-operative communities and neighbourhoods
  • fast and effective communication and energy-efficient transport

How to use hive:

Look for who is in your local suburb or village, in your nearest town or for the whole of Taranaki.

Search for a specific resource - a skill, knowledge, a product or service:

Click on Search Resources, select the area you want, and start typing the resource you are looking for. A box will pop up with options that are already in the hive.

If you can't find what you are looking for,

  • try a different word, sometimes we describe things differently
  • people who offer it have not yet flown into the hive - help them to find their way by nominating them here
  • it might not be on offer in Taranaki yet, so there's an opportunity to start a new business.

Browse the different categories and see who is supplying resources in a category:

Click on Browse Categories, select the area you want and use the arrow to select one of the primary categories. Once you have selected the primary category, another box will appear to select a more detailed middle category and again for the lowest detail of category. At any level you can select All to see everything at that level.

Find a supplier

Click on Find Supplier and start typing the name of the person, group or business you are looking for. A box will pop up with options that are already in the hive.
